what our clients say

Head of Fleet Training for Balfour Beatty

" The benefits of proper skid car training are vital. Recalling my experiences when training as a Police Advanced Driver and carrying out skid training, I was amazed at the benefits of such techniques. This training is undoubtedly potentially life saving "

Kathy Higgins, proprietor of Insight 2 Drive

We all wanted to enhance our skills to make us better instructors than we already are, and of course have some fun on the way. “I can speak for all the Insight 2 Drive instructors  by saying we all learnt a lot too”.

“Steve Jay, who was our trainer, was great!  He spoke to us on the level and he knew we were all driving instructors.  I cannot see why lots of instructors don’t do this as CPD as it is a very important part of what we teach to learners.”

The instructors of Insight 2 Drive took some time to consistently react in the correct way and these are drivers who are already highly skilled, the fun bit towards the end of the day was the Timed Slalom Event where they pitched their skills against each other. Kathy says “I am not going to say who won because that would be boasting, but it is fair to say we were all within seconds of each other”.

Geoff Goodspeed
Course Co-ordinator Chorley Advanced Motorists (Affiliated to the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM)

"All of the Observers (Tutors) at Chorley have taken the skid control course run by Malcolm Hamilton (NCCC Ltd) and believe that the course enhances general driving confidence as well as teaching skid control.

We run four courses per year and as an ‘add on’ to our normal course we actively encourage all of our trainees to take the skid course as well. To learn the feel when a car is beginning to lose grip and then to be able to control the skid is, we believe, a potential life-saver.

A good number of IAM groups I know also recommend this course.

We strongly recommend this course and its benefits to everyone."

"The day started with a briefing and then we were out in the skid cars.  The instructor gave us a demonstration and then we were in the driver's seat.  We practised oversteer and understeer driving in figures of eight as well as around the cones.  At the end we did a timed course that was a real challenge - slaloms, chicanes, a mini-roundabout and a straight section. Overall it was fantastic.  The instructor was really enthusiastic and kept encouraging us to really go for it."
